Last weekend, Armin van Buuren and his crew concluded the Armin Only Intense World Tour with a sold out show in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. After visiting 5 different continents, the biggest project Armin and his team ever worked on has come to an end. The tour included destinations such as St. Petersburg, Toronto, Mexico City, Sidney and Johannesburg. Just over a year ago, Armin Only Intense, the biggest DJ solo world tour, started it’s journey in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since then more than 500,000 fans worldwide enjoyed the show.

Armin van Buuren shares the following words about this experience:

“This is how it must feel when you’re in a band that’s breaking up. I will really miss this crew and the artists. From the very first try-outs in Den Bosch in the fall of 2013 to now, I think the show only got better and better as everybody got more and more used to their own parts in the show. Working with people from the world of theater was a very new thing for most of us. They didn’t really know the dance music world, and we didn’t really know their world either. That was one of the reasons why this tour was so special to me. But where one door closes, another one opens. I’m already working on a new album, and I hope to come back with a new Armin Only tour soon. I want to thank all visitors and fans for making this show possible. And remember, whatever you do, do it Intense!”

Armin Only Intense consisted of a crew of 30 people per show that took around 2,000 flights in one year. The unprecedented scale of the production is also reflected in the following facts and figures: 388 moving lights, 67 strobe lights, 20,000 Ping Pong balloons, a video production period of 3 months with 11 people, 3 hours of pre-programmed light show patterns on time code and 270 fully custom freestyle video clips.

Road Movie
The entire world tour has been covered via weekly episodes of the road movie on the Armin Only website which was made possible by KLM and Philips. This road movie offers fans exclusive and behind the scenes footage and followed Armin and his crew all over the world. During the penultimate episode of the road movie, we witness the last international edition of the Armin Only Intense show in Antwerp.
After more than a year on the road with each other, every single soul in the crew is broken up about the pending end of the Armin Only Intense world tour. A golden team to it’s very core — at times everything threatened to come apart at the seams, but everybody kept it together and showed what an incredible team the Armin Only Intense family is. No feat too great, no mountain to high, the amazing chemistry between each and every member of this team resulted in an unprecedented show that is still at its very peak!

After an emotional yet unbelievable show in Antwerp, it’s now time to head off to Amsterdam and go out with a bang and a show like never before!

Armin van Buuren’s latest release, Armin Anthems: Ultimate Singles Collected is now available on iTunes and as a physical CD. The release is also accompanied by a music video mega-mix showcasing each song from the album.

Fans around the world were given the chance to vote for their ‘Top 5 Armin Anthems’, and the response was overwhelming. Tens of thousands of votes poured in from countries all around the world, and the votes were tallied to create the final track list for the album.
