This project wasn’t something I originally planned to share. It’s not dance music no beats, no drops, just piano and strings. I recorded the album here at ConcertLab, and it felt right to return to this room to try it live for the first time.
On February 10th, I’m opening the doors to a try-out show. It’s an experiment, a different format, and a chance to see this music in its earliest live form. One night, one setting, one opportunity to be there.

We all encounter moments that challenge who we are and who we might become. We stumble, we doubt, we fall – but within those moments lies the spark of transformation. It isn’t just change. It’s courage. It’s fire. And that same bravery is at the core of the twenty-second installment of Armin van Buuren’s annual year mix series: ‘A State of Trance Year Mix 2025 (Mixed by Armin van Buuren)’.

Opening with a powerful narration that sets the stage for transformation, this 113-track journey takes you through the sounds that breathe courage, reinvention, and unshakable energy. From uplifting anthems and emotive vocal tracks to driving, boundary-pushing tech-trance, the mix features productions from Armin van Buuren, Omnia, Above & Beyond, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and many more. Collaborations with artists such as Bon Jovi, Martin Garrix, KI/KI, Sam Gray, and Malou highlight the spirit of connection and reinvention, while tracks such as ‘Set Me Free (Rising Star Remix)’, ‘Put Your Bassline’, ‘Holding The Light’, ‘Marama (Moon & Stars)’, and ‘Missing Part Of Me’ demonstrate the power to transform moments into memories.

Whether through soaring melodies or relentless grooves, this mix invites you to take the leap, embrace the unknown, and let the music guide your own transformation. All together, in A State of Trance.

AMF has announced its official anthem for 2025: ‘Put Your Bassline’, a debut collaboration between Armin van Buuren and KI/KI. The track will be released on October 24, one day before the pair’s back-to-back performance at AMF, in collaboration with 750 Years of Amsterdam in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. ‘Put Your Bassline’ is the first official AMF anthem co-produced by two headliners. The track combines Armin van Buuren’s trance influences with KI/KI’s underground sound, reflecting the contrast that defines this year’s II=I performance. Together, the two artists explore the connection between their different musical backgrounds and approaches to electronic music. Their first B2B took place two years ago during ADE, and this year they’re reuniting for the II=I concept, with their new track serving as the official anthem.

I happily bring you ‘Piano’, my most personal album to date: a 15-track self-composed piano album. Each song was recorded in one-take in Dolby Atmos. The album releases October 31 exclusively on Apple Music.

This project is something I’m sure many of you didn’t see coming, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to share it at first. It wasn’t dance music. No beats, no drops, only raw emotion. So I kept these songs for myself. But after recording the album with the strings section at ConcertLab in Utrecht, I knew this was something special to release.

It’s not a step away from dance music, but it’s a different side of me.

‘Piano’ is the most honest music I have ever made, stripping away all the beats and focusing on the strength of each note. Together with my piano teacher, Geronimo Snijtsheuvel, we shaped my vision into 14 original compositions and 1 interpolation.

From heart, to keys, to ears,

Armin

Listen to ‘Piano’ here.

Performed electrically together on stage at Tomorrowland, Untold and A State of Trance London in its Rising Star Remix, Armin van Buuren and SACHA’s ‘Set Me Free’ strikes a chord from the very first note. Capturing that moment when everything just falls into place, whether in love or in pursuit of dreams, this song channels pure emotion that resonates with everyone.

Next year, on February 27 & 28, we celebrate 25 years of A State of Trance. Trance is more than music, it’s a passion, a culture, a way of life. What began as a radio show, with a small event to celebrate the 100th episode, has grown into something so much bigger. Over the years, our community has grown into a family. We’ve watched the genre evolve together, and now we’ll celebrate that journey side by side.

On Friday, 27 February, we’ll take you on a journey through 25 years of trance. Reliving the moments and honoring the icons who have defined the scene, while also embracing the future that lies ahead. A trip through the past, present, and future.

On Saturday, 28 February, A State of Trance returns in the way you know and love: more stages, the world’s best trance artists, and unforgettable moments shared with thousands of fans. Together with the artists who have shaped the genre, we’ll once again celebrate 25 years of trance.
