Armin van Buuren, received no less than 7 nominations for the upcoming International Dance Music Awards show. The critically acclaimed show, which will take place during the Winter Music Conference in Miami, USA, at the end of March, is one of the leading award shows in the Electronic Dance Music scene. The voting ballot, inviting all dance music lovers to vote for their favorites, will be open until March 2nd.

The Dutch DJ, received 7 nominations within 6 categories and is in the running for ‘‘Best Global DJ’, ‘Best Trance Trance Track’, ‘Best Compilation or Full Length DJ Mix’, ‘Best Trance DJ’, ‘Best Podcast or Radio Mixshow DJ’ and his headphones are in the running for ‘Best Headphones. Last but not least, Armada Music, the record label of which Armin is the co-founder, that has won the ‘Best Global Record Label’ five years in a row is once again nominated for the much-coveted award.

The 30th edition of the Winter Music Conference will take place in Miami, Florida, March 23-28, 2015. With over 60,000 visitors from over 70 different countries, including DJs, label owners and other delegates of the dance scene, the WMC is one of the major happenings in the dance music industry. One of the most anticipated events during WMC is the International Dance Music Awards show. The IDMAs generate over two million votes from music enthusiasts in 209 countries every year. During the show, awards in 57 different categories will be given.

During Ultra Miami last year, the mysterious duo Gaia performed for the very first time, finally giving a face to the elusive name. Well, not exactly… The hooded duo project have performed several times now in the their trademark, obscured outfits, keeping the mystery alive as to who, exactly the two performers are on stage.

Ever the champions of what is lovingly referred to as the “classic” trance sound, Gaia are not afraid to push the tempo, employing slowly evolving textures and slight modulations to fully evoke the feeling of trance as it was originally meant to be: a state of mind. Making classic records since 2000, Gaia was indeed ‘In Principio’ — at the forefront of the trance movement. Now they are back to where it all began, with a new release that will undoubtedly appeal to diehard fans and newcomers alike.

Saturday, February 7th marks the continuation of the ASOT #700 Live Stream celebration, with Armin van Buuren and friends hosting a 6-hour show. The first episode was a roaring success, and the crowd was nothing short of phenomenal! We can’t wait to continue the party once more, and to broadcast to trance lovers from beautiful Sydney. Fans from around the world can join in the celebration, just put on the live stream and join in on an incredible celebration of music.

Not long ago, we asked you to submit your vote for your favorite mix of the new A State of Trance Festival anthem: ‘Together (In A State of Trance)’. After tallying the votes, we can safely say that the people have spoken! So who came out on top? Drumroll, please…

Mr. Armin van Buuren’s original mix received the most votes, followed closely by a TIE for second place between the Bryan Kearney and the ReOrder & Standerwick pres. SkyPatrol remixes. The numbers were close, and every remix had strong support from loyal followers. Regardless of whether your mix won the popular vote or not, one thing is guaranteed: each of these outstanding mixes will be played repeatedly during ASOT Festival and throughout the year by big DJs the world over.

Spanning two stages, you’ll be treated to not one but two Armin performances (his trademark warm-up set to kick things off followed by his peak-hour 2 hour set), and of course, performances from David Gravell, Gaia, Aly & Fila, Bryan Kearney, MaRLo, Omnia, Ben Gold, Jorn van Deynhoven, Alexander Popov, and a B2B set from Thomas Hayes & Nick Arbor.

In one of the countries, the Netherlands to be precise, they did something extra special. The ASOT Cadets have hidden 5 pairs of tickets in undisclosed locations…for you to find. And so, they invite you…to the ASOT650 Utrecht ticket hunt on Saturday February 8th!

At stake are 5 pairs of tickets for the ASOT650 show in the Jaarbeurs, Utrecht on February 15th, along with a few merchandise goodies! So, how does it work?
