Last night, at the prestigious Buma Awards show in Studio 21 in Hilversum (NL), Armin van Buuren was awarded with no less than 3 Buma Awards! The prizes follow up on Armin’s ‘Gouden Harp’ award in 2010, the highest distinction a Dutch artist can get.
The Buma Awards Nationaal was handed to him for the staggering success of single ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, based on national sales and airplay. ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, the Grammy-nominated first single of his ‘Intense’ album, is Armin’s collaboration with Benno de Goeij and John Ewbank. Armin also received the Buma Award 2013 Filmmuziek is the prize he’ll share with Martijn Schimmer, Matthijs Kieboom and Benno de Goeij, for the music he produced on Dutch movie ‘Verliefd op Ibiza’.
On winning that award, Armin said the following:”I think it’s a great honour that I was asked to provide music for the movie – it was a really nice challenge. I’m very thankful that now, together with the composers and writers, I’ve been rewarded for that.”
A third prize, the Buma Awards International was awarded to Armin for the international success he had with ‘This Is What It Feels Like’.
