Remix challenge ‘Nova Zembla’ becomes a Top 40 hit
The first Dutch 3D movie, ‘Nova Zembla’, now also has its first Top 40 hit! During an interview on Radio 538, the director of the movie, Reinout Oerlemans, challenged Armin to remix the official soundtrack of the historic drama. Armin gladly took the challenge and released it on iTunes at the end of December 2011. In the meantime, the remix has grown so popular that it took the highest new entry (#6) in the Dutch Top 100 and became ‘hit of the week’ in the Dutch Top 40 (#26).
The epic ‘Nova Zembla’ soundtrack, produced and composed by the trio Chrisnanne Wiegel, Melcher Meirmans and Merlijn Snitker, perfectly fitted the style of the Dutch DJ and producer. Armin managed to turn the angelic vocals, orchestral intermezzo and melody into a danceable trance version. An official music video for the remix is in the making!
The full proceeds of the remix will go to Polar Bears International, an international organization that helps protect the polar bears.
