Armin van Buuren opens PING account on iTunes
Armin van Buuren has opened up a Ping account on iTunes. The new social medium allows users to follow their favourite artists and friends to discover the music they’re downloading, listening to and talk about. Ping is the latest trend in social media and eases the promotion of music, staying in touch with artists and keeping up to date on their music.
The social media phenomenon is growing bigger every year. Next to Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and countless other personal and fan profiles, Apple has now introduced a new feature for the biggest music portal in the world, iTunes. Ping makes it easy to keep track of artists and label releases, concerts and gigs, recommend music and write reviews. For Armin van Buuren, the number one DJ of the world as chosen by the critically acclaimed DJ Mag, Ping is a great way to promote his music and releases. ‘Mirage’, his fourth artist album, will be released on iTunes on September 10th.
Apple’s Ping had more than one million users within 48 hours after its launch. With more people downloading iTunes 10, the Ping community is expected to grow extensively within the following weeks and months.
